Profile

I like work where something important is still unclear: a process wasting people’s time, a system nobody quite trusts, or an idea that still needs to become something real. I am most motivated when the result proves useful to the people who rely on it.

That might mean saving an end user time, removing friction for a colleague, or making a system easier to understand and trust. I stay with the problem until the result works in practice, not just on paper.

AI is a practical part of how I work. I use it to get into unfamiliar systems faster, prototype ideas, and test assumptions. I also use it to get routine work out of the way. Reusable skills, explicit rules, and structured reviews keep that speed from lowering the quality. I still make the calls and own the result.

I have been building software long enough to know that complexity needs to earn its keep. I ask awkward questions early, take ownership when work falls between roles, and try to leave software easier to use and easier to change.

Core Competencies

The practical mix is stronger than the title makes it look.

  • Laravel / PHP (logic-heavy backend systems, APIs, integrations, developer tooling)
  • Integration Systems (webhooks, idempotency, retries, queued workflows built for failure)
  • External API Reliability (partial failure, duplication, and inconsistent third-party behavior)
  • Testing for Integrations (feature tests, fixtures, queue assertions, failure paths)
  • Data & Performance (MySQL, Redis, throughput control, data modeling)
  • CI/CD & Delivery (GitHub Actions, fast feedback, safe releases)

Experience

Recent relevant work first. Earlier roles are collapsed below.

  • Senior Backend Engineer

    Moxso — Copenhagen, Denmark (On-site) — January 2026 – March 2026 (2 months)

Worked on a DDD-structured, event-driven Laravel system with many bounded contexts.

    Achievements:

    • Delivered changes that respected aggregate boundaries and event flows across a codebase spanning 27 bounded contexts.
    • Improved testing, standards, and tooling to reduce friction and make routine changes safer to ship.
    • Built a structured AI-assisted workflow across Cursor, Codex, Claude Sonnet, and GPT-5.4, with reusable rules for planning, debugging, TDD, reviews, and acceptance checks.
Laravel PHP Domain-Driven Design APIs Testing AI-Assisted Workflows
  • Senior Backend Engineer

    Worksome ApS — Copenhagen, Denmark (Remote) — February 2022 – December 2025 (3 years 10 months)

Owned integration-heavy backend systems for a global platform used by enterprises, freelancers, and staffing agencies.

    Achievements:

    • Designed and shipped webhook delivery with retries, deduplication, and idempotent processing for external integrations on a global hiring platform.
    • Built async export pipelines for bills, contracts, timesheets, and jobs, turning large operational tasks into predictable workflows under load.
    • Improved delivery confidence through stronger feature tests, CI discipline, and clearer patterns for safe changes.
    • Worked across backend and frontend boundaries so delivery did not stall on handoffs or fuzzy ownership.

  • Senior Backend Engineer & DevOps

    Dwarf A/S — Copenhagen, Denmark — November 2015 – January 2022 (6 years 2 months)

Led backend and DevOps work across multiple projects. Primary architect for Husweb, a system for entering data and generating condition reports and electrical inspection reports for the Danish housing market.

    • Built the Husweb to Workzone integration across audit workflows, document uploads, custom authentication, and identity matching across multiple identifiers.
    • Modeled complex report and review workflows so condition reports and electrical inspection reports could be entered, processed, and generated consistently.
    • Removed structural technical debt blocking partner APIs, enabling new integrations.
    • Built AWS/Docker infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for Laravel, Statamic, and custom PHP systems.

Open Source Efforts

  • Creator & Maintainer

Open Source Systems & AI Workflow Tooling — Global — June 2025 – Present (1 year 2 months)

I build open source tools for code coverage, archive recovery, disk analysis, and old message formats.

    • EyeCov: TypeScript/Node coverage tooling for VS Code, Cursor, MCP, reports, and AI-assisted review workflows. Turns test coverage into evidence humans and agents can use.
    • Gjallr: a PHP CLI for inspecting dead-site backups and producing readable recovery reports before rebuilding.
    • Ratatoskr: a read-only Go CLI that finds generated waste on developer machines, explains each finding, and emits JSON reports without deleting anything.
    • GoldED / FTN: a new Laravel web app and shared PHP packages for importing, modelling, and reading FTN message archives, alongside the original GoldED source updated to build and run on modern macOS.
