Dear Hiring Team,
I am applying for the Lead Engineer role in GenAI Tech Enablement because the mission aligns directly with what I have spent the last several years doing: building reliable platforms, raising engineering standards, and using AI to accelerate developer productivity at scale.
Across Worksome, Dwarf, and my open-source work, I have owned critical backend and infrastructure systems end-to-end - designing architectures, establishing CI/CD and testing practices, and shaping developer experience with tools that make teams faster and more confident. My focus has always been to create platforms that developers genuinely want to use.
Although my primary background is in Laravel/PHP, my work has consistently required learning new technologies, adapting across the full stack, and treating languages as interchangeable tools. The GenAI domain has only strengthened that mindset. I am comfortable picking up Python as part of the job, and for a role grounded in platform thinking, orchestration, reliability, and developer enablement, I will contribute from day one.
I was excited to see LEGO's direction in GenAI. Building GenAI capability that is secure, robust, and genuinely empowering for internal teams is exactly the kind of challenge where my mix of platform engineering, testing discipline, infrastructure experience, and AI-driven tooling fits naturally.
If you would like a first-hand impression of how I work, Evan Savage (now at LEGO) collaborated closely with me at Worksome and can speak directly to my approach. He once summed it up as "one of the best engineers at diving into complex, detail-oriented problems and getting to a clean, reliable solution," along with proactive communication and strong contributions to engineering-wide quality.
I would welcome the chance to discuss how I can help shape the next generation of LEGO's GenAI platform and support the teams who build on it.
Thank you for your time.
Kind regards,
Odinn Adalsteinsson
